1-Day Ngorongoro Crater Day-Trip

Depart early in the morning from Arusha and drive through the scenic Great Rift Valley and Ngorongoro Highlands (approx. 3 hours) before descending 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater. Spend the day exploring the crater floor, a haven for wildlife with open grasslands, swamps, forests, and the central soda lake.

Here you can spot lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, jackals, and with some luck, the endangered black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated spot near the hippo pool before continuing your afternoon game drive. Later, ascend the crater rim and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the evening.
