Day 1

After breakfast, your guide will collect you from your Arusha hotel or Kilimanjaro Airport. You’ll travel southwest through the scenic Maasai Steppe toward Tarangire National Park (or Lake Manyara, depending on season and wildlife movement).
Tarangire Option: Known for its towering baobab trees and large elephant herds, Tarangire offers classic dry-season game viewing. Expect to see giraffes, buffalo, impala, and possibly lions or leopards near the Tarangire River. The park is also a birdwatcher’s paradise, with over 500 recorded species.
Lake Manyara Option: Nestled beneath the Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is lush and compact, famous for its tree-climbing lions, large baboon troops, and flamingos along the lakeshore. The groundwater forest is home to blue monkeys, bushbuck, and hornbills.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated site, followed by afternoon game drives. In the late afternoon, you’ll drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight at Country Lodge Karatu.

Day 2
Ngorongoro Crater – Game Drive and return to Arusha
Ngorongoro Crater – Game Drive and return to Arusha
After an early breakfast, you’ll ascend into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 metres into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater floor is a self-contained ecosystem, home to over 25,000 animals.
Expect to see:
• Black rhino (rare but possible)
• Lions, hyenas, and jackals
• Elephants and buffalo
• Hippos wallowing in freshwater pools
• Flamingos and waterbirds along Lake Magadi
Your guide will find a scenic spot for a picnic lunch, often near the hippo pool. In the afternoon, ascending the crater wall and returning to Arusha.
