Your driver-guide meets you at Entebbe International Airport for a pre-safari briefing covering all eight days — permits, packing, park etiquette, and what to expect at each destination. You then spend approximately three hours on a guided Kampala city orientation, visiting major historical and cultural landmarks: the Gadhafi National Mosque, Nakasero Market and the craft markets.
From Kampala, the two-hour drive east to Jinja takes you through Uganda's densely populated and culturally rich Busoga region — sugarcane fields, roadside markets, and the enormous presence of Lake Victoria on the southern horizon. In Jinja, your guided visit to the Source of the Nile includes boat access to the exact point where Lake Victoria narrows into the Victoria Nile, beginning its 6,650-kilometre journey to the Mediterranean. Your guide frames the visit with the history of the explorers who searched for this point, and the communities who have lived alongside the river for millennia.

An early departure heads north from Jinja toward Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary — approximately six to seven hours of driving through Uganda's rural north. At Ziwa, specialist rangers brief you before leading you into the sanctuary on foot in search of Uganda's only wild Southern White Rhinos. The tracking session lasts approximately two to three hours and covers open bush terrain, bringing you into genuine close proximity with the rhinos — no vehicle, no barrier. Ziwa's population has grown from just six individuals to over thirty, and your visit directly supports that conservation effort. Lunch at the sanctuary follows before continuing north to Murchison Falls National Park.
Arrive at the park in the late afternoon, check in to the lodge, and settle in for dinner and overnight. The Nile is close — you will hear it before you see it.

A 6:00am departure for the morning game drive on the northern bank circuit — Murchison's most productive game-viewing area. Lions are active in the early hours; large elephant herds move through the tree lines at dawn; Nubian giraffes browse the acacia canopy; Lake Chad buffalo graze in vast numbers across open grassland. Your guide navigates the tracks reading animal signs to find active sightings. Look out for oribi, Bohor's reedbuck, warthog, spotted hyena, and the Shoebill Stork — one of the most sought-after birds in Africa — in the papyrus margins along the Nile.
The afternoon Nile boat cruise travels upstream for two hours to the base of Murchison Falls. Both banks are continuously active: hippos in every pool, crocodiles on every sandbank, elephant and buffalo at the water's edge, and a near-constant procession of water birds along the reeds and overhanging branches. The base of the falls reveals itself at journey's end as an overwhelming wall of white water and sound.

Begin the morning at the Top of the Falls, where the full volume of the Nile compresses through an 8-metre gorge with a force that produces permanent mist and a roar audible from some distance away. Standing at the rim as the spray rises and the thunder fills the air is one of the great sensory experiences of any Africa safari, creating thunderous waterfalls, permanent mist, and one of Uganda's most spectacular viewpoints.
After the visit, depart for Kibale Forest National Park, a scenic 5–6 hour drive through Uganda's western highlands via Fort Portal, with views of tea plantations, crater lakes, and the Rwenzori Mountains. Along the way, your guide introduces Kibale's rich ecology and chimpanzee population in preparation for tomorrow's trek. Arrive in the evening for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

An early start at Kibale Forest National Park headquarters for ranger briefing before entering the forest on foot. Kibale holds 13 primate species and the highest chimpanzee density in Africa — over 1,500 individuals in a single forest reserve. The habituated communities are calm and naturally behaved, regularly present in large groups that allow extended, unhurried observation. Your ranger identifies individuals by name and narrates behaviour throughout the permitted hour, transforming the experience from observation into genuine understanding. The full vocal range of a chimpanzee community — from soft contact calls to the resonant long call that carries for kilometres through the canopy — is one of the most extraordinary sounds in nature.
After the trekking experience and lunch, begin the afternoon transfer south to Bwindi. Arrive at Bwindi in the early evening for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

The morning begins early: breakfast before dawn, boots already laced, a quiet sense of occasion in the air. At the park headquarters, you are assigned to your gorilla family group, briefed by your ranger team, and led into the forest on foot.
Bwindi is ancient, dense, and alive. The trek itself — through root-tangled forest floor, across streams, under cathedral canopy — is part of the experience. The trek can take anywhere from 30 minutes to several hours depending on where the gorillas have ranged overnight, with trackers guiding the ranger team by radio.
When the rangers signal the gorillas are close, everything slows you'll spend a memorable hour observing these remarkable primates in their natural habitat, watching silverbacks, playful infants, and family interactions up close. After the trek, return to park headquarters to receive your gorilla trekking certificate before enjoying a relaxing afternoon at the lodge.

After breakfast, begin the scenic drive east toward Lake Mburo National Park — a compact, accessible park that surprises most first-time visitors with the quality and uniqueness of its wildlife. Lake Mburo is the only park in Uganda where Burchell's zebras are found, and the open grassland supports large herds moving through a landscape of ancient exposed parent rocks, acacia woodland, and open savannah vegetation that looks entirely different from any other park on this itinerary.
Arrive in time for an evening game drive that takes advantage of the golden afternoon light. Zebras, impalas, topi, elands, buffaloes, and warthogs are reliably encountered across the park's plains. Lake Mburo also holds Uganda's highest concentration of leopards, and while sightings require patience and luck, the evening drive is the best time to try. Proceed to Hyena Hill Lodge for check-in, dinner, and overnight.
