Travel from Nairobi City to Masai Mara National Reserve

For a Group Joining Safari, our pick-up point is at Biashara Street (Nairobi CBD), any alternative location needs to be discussed and agreed before the start date. This tour has a short stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint for photos against the Rift Valley and another bathroom break in Narok town.

Your expected arrival time at the camp is late afternoon. You then check in and proceed for lunch. At 4:00 pm, you will go on your first thrilling game drive in the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of East Africa's premier safari destinations. You will then return to the resort in the late evening, in time for dinner.

Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

This day begins with an early morning breakfast before beginning a full day game drive in the vast Masai Mara Reserve. Your full-day game drives will take you in search of Africa's Big Five (Elephant, Lions, Leopard, Buffalos and the endangered black rhino) and other wildlife that live in this vast Kenyan game reserve.

Even though sighting of all the big five is not always guaranteed, the variety of wildlife in this reserve is still amazing. Additional wildlife that you are likely to see include the spotted hyena, the Masai giraffe, grey-backed jackals, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, baboons, cheetahs, and several species of antelopes (impalas, wildebeest, topi, hartebeest, gazelles, bushbucks, waterbucks, elands, dik-diks, and reedbucks). There is a short break for a picnic lunch within the reserve.

Visiting the Masai Mara Game Reserve between July to October gives you the best chance to witness the spectacular wildebeest migration, one of the 7 wonders of the world.

Drive back to Nairobi City

On this day, you will have breakfast, then check out of the lodge and depart for Nairobi through the breathtaking views of the Great rift valley. You will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or at the airport for your flight back home.

As well as the wildlife, the park is home to the community of Masai warriors. Their bravery is known the world over in their battles with the animals of the savanna, and they welcome you into their culture with traditional song and dance. You have a chance to witness their culture and visit a home to better know their extraordinary way of life. This visit is optional and there is an extra fee of US$30 applicable.

Optional activities on this day can be, half day city tour, cultural experience at the Bomas of Kenya and dinner at The Carnivore restaurant for exotic meals(to be paid direct).
