Day 1

Leave Arusha at 6:00 am and drive 2.5–3 hours to the Marangu Gate (1,860m). After check-in, start your hike through lush rainforest alive with birdlife and playful monkeys. The trail meanders toward Mandara Hut (2,700m), passing through shaded canopies and small streams. Upon reaching Mandara, take a break for a picnic lunch and, if time allows, hike a bit farther to Maundi Crater for panoramic views over Kenya and the vast plains below. Begin your descent in the afternoon and return to the gate. Your driver will transfer you back to Arusha, arriving by evening.
