Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve Your adventure begins with a transfer from Nairobi to the Masai Mara National Reserve. You are collected from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in the morning. The journey to Masai Mara is a picturesque one, typically 5-6 hours, through the Great Rift Valley with potential stops to appreciate the scenery. Upon arrival in Masai Mara, you will be accommodated in Mara Sopa Lodge. After lunch, take your first afternoon game drive in the reserve, seeking out the "Big Five" (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) and other abundant wildlife. Dinner and overnight Mara Sopa Lodge.

Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara National Reserve

Spend the entire day game viewing over the wide plains of the Masai Mara. You will depart after breakfast with a picnic lunch in order to spend maximum game viewing time without returning to the lodge. The Masai Mara is famous for its high concentration of wildlife, especially the large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and various antelopes, especially during the time of the Great Migration (July to October). You will get ample opportunity to view predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, in addition to hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River. A visit to a Maasai village can be optionally organized to learn about their culture and traditions. An optional hot air balloon safari at dawn for a bird's eye view of the reserve is stunning. Dinner and overnight will be at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Morning Game Drive in Masai Mara & Transfer to Lake Nakuru

Start the day with an early morning game drive in the Masai Mara, optimal time to witness the predators in action and other creatures emerging from the nighttime factors. After breakfast at the lodge, you will depart and head to Lake Nakuru National Park. The journey is around 5 hours. You'll check into Lake Nakuru Sopa on arrival. Afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru, famous for its enormous populations of both black and white rhinos and colorful diversity of birdlife, including resident flamingos (though their counts are subject to fluctuation as a result of climate change and water levels).
Dinner and overnight will be at Lake Nakuru Sopa.

Lake Nakuru

Spend a whole day exploring Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is a safari in a different sense with its diverse habitats, including the lake, acacia woodlands, and rocky escarpments. Other than the rhinos and the flamingos, you ought to spot Rothschild's giraffes, buffalo, zebras, impalas, and some predators like lions and leopards. Morning Game Drive in Lake Nakuru & Departure to Nairobi

After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and drive to Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro. This is a long traveling day, but the destination has quintessential scenery of large elephant herds against the background of Africa's highest peak. Arrive in Amboseli for lunch and an afternoon game drive.
