Day 2

After breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara National Park, a scenic gem nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Enjoy a half-day game drive across the crater floor, where you’ll have the opportunity to spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—along with countless other species such as zebras, wildebeests, and flamingos near the soda lake.

In the afternoon, ascend from the crater rim and continue your journey toward the world-famous Serengeti National Park. Spend time learning about their unique traditions, hunting techniques, and daily lifestyle, which have remained largely unchanged for centuries. After breakfast, depart from your lodge and drive to the Marangu Gate, the starting point for your Mount Kilimanjaro day hike. After completing registration, you’ll begin your guided trek along the Marangu Route, also known as the “Coca-Cola Route.” This scenic trail winds through a beautiful montane rainforest, home to colobus monkeys, vibrant tropical birds, and a variety of flora unique to the slopes of Africa’s highest mountain.
Your hike continues up to Mandara Hut (2,700 meters), where you’ll take a short rest and enjoy a packed lunch. A brief walk from here leads you to Maundi Crater, offering stunning panoramic views over northern Tanzania and Kenya’s plains on a clear day.
