Day 1
Upon entering the park, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of vast savannahs dotted with majestic baobab trees and teeming with life. Tarangire is renowned for its dense wildlife population, particularly during the dry season from June to September, when thousands of wildebeest, zebras, buffalo, and oryx migrate from the parched Maasai Steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water.
As you follow the trails, keep your eyes open for elephant herds, the park’s gentle giants, along with lions, leopards, cheetahs, and other predators lurking nearby. The park is also a paradise for bird lovers, boasting over 500 bird species, from colorful lilac-breasted rollers to striking hornbills and massive ostriches.
You’ll enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the park, surrounded by the sounds of nature and sweeping views of the plains. After lunch, continue your afternoon game drive and continue with the game en route and back to Arusha.
