Nairobi to Maasai Mara - Arrival and Afternoon Exploration

Start your adventure with an early morning pickup from your Nairobi hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and embark on a scenic drive through Kenya's picturesque countryside.

Stopover 1: Great Rift Valley Viewpoint – Pause here for panoramic views of the dramatic escarpment, stretching volcanic landscapes while snapping photos of this geological wonder.

Arrive at Maasai Mara National Reserve by midday. Check into Sarova Mara Game Camp for a refreshing lunch. In the afternoon, head out on your first game drive (3-4 hours) through the reserve's rolling grasslands. Spot elephants, zebras, and giraffes grazing freely, with opportunities to witness predators like cheetahs or lions on the prowl.

Return to the camp as the sun sets for dinner and an overnight stay.

Hot Air Balloon, Mara Wildlife Immersion and Departure to Nairobi

This day starts with a very early morning Hot Air Balloon experience that will give you a memorable aerial view of the vast savannah wilderness of the Maasai Mara. You will get back to the hotel for a sumptuous breakfast and embark on a last lap of the great iconic Maasai Mara to catch predators in action as the early risers hunt for their early meal.

On our way out, we will pass by the Maasai Village to immerse ourselves in Maasai culture with a guided tour of a traditional manyatta (village). Learn about their warrior traditions, beadwork, and jumping dances. Also, get an opportunity to buy souvenirs.

We will then embark on our journey back, grabbing lunch along the way as we head back to Nairobi, as you reflect on your compact whirlwind adventure, arriving late in the evening. You will be dropped off at your hotel or back at the airport.
