Day 1

Zanzibar Island to Mikumi National Park

Zanzibar Island to Mikumi National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and taken to the ferry terminal for your transfer to Dar es Salaam. From there, you'll travel by business class on the SGR train to Morogoro, saving around 3 hours of travel time.

At the Morogoro train station, our transfer driver will meet you and take you on a smooth drive to Mikumi. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a hot lunch at Camp Bastian. After some rest at the hotel, you will visit a Maasai boma for about 2 hours. In the evening, you'll return to Camp Bastian for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, you will start on a full-day game drive to spot animals in Mikumi National Park. One of Mikumi's features is that it's stretched across a big plain, so you can spot a lot of animals. Mikumi National Park hosts animals like lions, elephants, buffalo, impalas, zebras, and many other wild animals. You will enjoy your lunch at the picnic campsites in Mikumi National Park. You will head to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay at Camp Bastian.
