Your adventure begins by our driver will pick you up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam city and transfer you to the SGR station at Posta. After the formalities at the station then the journey begin aboard the SGR from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi. Enjoy breathtaking views of Tanzania's landscapes as you travel comfortably through the countryside. Upon arrival, your safari guide will welcome you and transfer you to your camp for check-in and relaxation.

In the afternoon, immerse yourself in Maasai culture by visiting a traditional Maasai boma. Experience their unique way of life, traditional dances and rich history.

After the visit, return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay as you prepare for the exciting game drives ahead.

Exploring Mikumi National Park

Start your day with wildlife viewing activities and an early breakfast before embarking on a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. Known as the mini Serengeti, Mikumi offers diverse landscapes, including open savannahs and Acacia woodlands, which attract a wide variety of wildlife.

Expect to see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffalo and various antelope species. You may also spot lions, leopards, and hyenas lounging under trees or hunting. Bird enthusiasts will be delighted by the presence of over 400 bird species, including colorful hornbills and fish eagles.

At midday, you will take a break at a scenic picnic spot or a lodge inside the park to enjoy a packed lunch while surrounded by nature. After lunch we will continue with the game drive.

As the sun begins to set, return to your camp, where you can relax and reflect on the day's adventure over a delicious dinner. Get a good night's rest in preparation for your journey back to Dar es Salaam the next day.

Mikumi National Park to Dar Es Salaam

Start your day with a relaxing breakfast at the camp, enjoying the peaceful surroundings of Mikumi. If time permits, take a short nature walk or simply unwind before checking out.

Your guide will then transfer you to the train station for your scenic SGR journey back to Dar es Salaam. As the train travels through Tanzania's beautiful landscapes, take in the last views of the countryside while reflecting on your incredible safari experience.

You will arrive in Dar es Salaam in the afternoon so our driver will drop off to your hotel in Dar Es Salaam marking the end of your memorable adventure in Mikumi. Note: Accommodation can be booked at extra cost.
