Upon arrival in Jimma, you’ll begin a scenic road journey to Chebera Churchura National Park, passing through lush coffee-growing regions and rural villages. The drive offers an authentic glimpse of Ethiopia’s countryside, with opportunities to stop for photos or short breaks along the way. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at the park, check into your campsite, and enjoy a peaceful evening surrounded by the sounds of nature.

Day 3

Today is dedicated to exploring the wild landscapes and rich biodiversity of Chebera Churchura National Park. After an early breakfast, you’ll set out on a guided safari led by experienced local rangers. The park is one of the few places in Ethiopia where large herds of African elephants can be observed in their natural habitat. As you move through open grasslands and dense forest, you may also encounter buffaloes, leopards, lions, warthogs, hippos, and numerous antelope species, along with an impressive variety of birdlife. A packed lunch will be served in the park before continuing your wildlife exploration in the afternoon. Return to your campsite in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a guided jungle trek through the park’s lush forest trails toward the Koka Hot Springs, a naturally heated geothermal site hidden within the tropical greenery. Here, you can rest and enjoy the unique warmth of the springs. The trek continues deeper into the forest to reach the Shoshima Waterfalls, one of the park’s most stunning natural attractions, cascading through thick vegetation and rocky cliffs. The combination of jungle scenery, flowing water, and rich wildlife sounds makes this a highlight of the trip. In the late afternoon, return to your camp to unwind and enjoy your final evening in the park.

After breakfast, depart Chebera Churchura National Park and drive back to Jimma, enjoying the scenic journey through Ethiopia’s green highlands. Upon arrival, board your flight to Addis Ababa. Depending on your international flight schedule, you’ll either connect directly to your departure flight home or have time for a brief rest and shopping stop in the city before your transfer to Bole International Airport for your outbound journey. This marks the end of your remarkable adventure in Ethiopia’s wild southwest.
