You will be welcomed by your Gorilla Explorers safari guide and then transferred to Murchison Falls National Park. This is a long drive of approximately 6-7 hours, so it’s essential to start early.

On the way, you will stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking. This sanctuary is the only place in Uganda where you can see rhinos in the wild. Enjoy a guided walking safari to observe these magnificent creatures. After your visit, continue to Murchison Falls National Park and check into your lodge for an overnight stay. Depending on the time of arrival, you may have the opportunity to go on an evening game drive.

Day 3

Transfer to Kibale National Park

After enjoying an early morning breakfast, we will transfer to Kibale National Park for an exciting chimp trekking experience the following day. As we travel south, we will take in the stunning views of the Ugandan countryside while leaving Murchison Falls National Park behind. Our route will pass through the key towns of Hoima and Fort Portal, and we expect to arrive at Kibale in the early evening, ready to continue our adventure.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing, where you'll be assigned a gorilla family group and receive important guidelines for the experience ahead. From there, you’ll begin your trek into the dense forest in search of these magnificent primates—a journey that can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location.

Gorilla trekking is a physically demanding activity, so a moderate level of fitness is recommended. Once you encounter the gorillas, you'll have a magical hour to quietly observe them in their natural habitat and capture photos—a short time that leaves a lasting impression.

For those interested, optional post-trek activities include visiting the Batwa (pygmy) community or taking a guided walk through the surrounding villages to explore local culture and traditions.

Along the way, you can anticipate charming lunch breaks at local eateries where you can savor traditional Ugandan dishes.

As you traverse the picturesque landscapes, your route will take you through lush valleys and rolling hills, with occasional stops to capture the stunning views of Uganda’s natural beauty. Your experienced guide will share insights about the region's flora and fauna, enriching your travel experience.

As your seven-day safari comes to a close, your guide will ensure that you arrive at the airport with ample time to check in for your planned departure, leaving you with memories of the extraordinary wildlife and captivating culture you encountered during your journey.
