Program of the Day: After breakfast, your safari guide will transfer you on a scenic 1-hour drive from Karatu to Lake Eyasi. Begin your cultural adventure by meeting the Hadzabe community, renowned for their traditional hunting lifestyle. Experience a hands-on opportunity to observe and even join them as they demonstrate their unique hunting techniques.

Next, visit the Datoga community, famous for their skillful blacksmithing, and witness their craftsmanship firsthand. Later, enjoy a leisurely nature walk along the shores of Lake Eyasi and explore a nearby village to gain insight into local life and traditions.

Conclude your day with a return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay, reflecting on a rich day of cultural immersion.

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast at your lodge before your safari guide picks you up for a journey to the legendary Ngorongoro Crater. An early start is essential, as wildlife is most active in the morning hours, giving you the best chance to spot predators like lions and elusive black rhinos, as well as zebras, wildebeest, and gazelles. Carry a packed lunch to enjoy amid the stunning landscapes during your game drive.

Often called a “lost world,” the Crater is a breathtaking mix of rolling grasslands, forests, and lakes, home to over 500 species of birds and countless other animals. Descending early allows you to explore more of this incredible ecosystem before midday, when animals tend to rest in the shade.
