After an early breakfast, you'll depart for Tarangire National Park, approximately a two-hour drive from Arusha. As you approach the park, the scenery changes dramatically — from rolling hills to open savannah dotted with magnificent baobab trees.
Tarangire is often called the “Home of Giants” due to its impressive elephant population, the largest in northern Tanzania. The park’s lifeblood, the Tarangire River, winds through the landscape, attracting a spectacular array of wildlife, including buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and prides of lions. Keep your eyes peeled for the elusive leopard lounging in the shade or climbing trees — a behavior unique to this region.
You'll enjoy a thrilling day of game drives, exploring the park’s varied terrain and abundant birdlife.

Serengeti National Park– Endless Plains of Wonder

After breakfast, you'll begin your journey to the legendary Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s crown jewel and one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The drive takes you through the Ngorongoro highlands, with a scenic stop at the crater viewpoint — a breathtaking panorama of the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera.
As you descend into the Serengeti, the landscape opens up into vast grasslands dotted with acacia trees and distant herds of wildebeests and zebras stretching to the horizon. The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maasai word Siringet, meaning “endless plains,” and it truly feels infinite.
You'll spend the afternoon exploring the central Serengeti, known for its predator populations. Lions can be seen lazing beneath acacia trees, cheetahs patrol the open plains, and leopards stealthily rest in the branches above. Your guide will position you perfectly for photographs and unforgettable moments.
As dusk approaches, you will head to Kontiki Serengeti Camp.

Ngorongoro Crater – The Eden of Africa

After breakfast, you'll begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, another of Tanzania’s natural masterpieces.
You'll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This massive caldera, formed millions of years ago by a volcanic eruption, is now home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife on the continent.
On your game drive across the crater floor, you’ll encounter elephants, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeests, and perhaps even the rare black rhino grazing peacefully on the plains. The crater’s diverse ecosystems — from forests to wetlands and open grasslands provide a sanctuary for nearly 30,000 animals. Lions are easily spotted here, often resting beside the road, while hippos laze in shallow pools surrounded by pink flamingos.
After a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, you'll ascend the crater walls and return to Karatu for your overnight stay at Eileen's Tree Inn.

Keep your eyes open for the famous tree-climbing lions, often found resting on the branches of acacia trees, as well as herds of elephants, troops of playful baboons, and flocks of flamingos coloring the lake’s shoreline pink. The park is also home to hippos, giraffes, and a remarkable variety of birds, making every turn an opportunity for discovery.
