Zanzibar to Ndutu

Your adventure begins with a morning flight from Zanzibar to the Ndutu airstrip, located in the southern Serengeti ecosystem. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your safari guide and immediately begin your first game drive in the Ndutu area, which is known for its seasonal concentration of wildlife during the Great Migration. Expect to see large herds of wildebeest, zebras, and predators like lions and cheetahs. In the late afternoon, you’ll head to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Spend the full day exploring the rich plains and woodland areas of Ndutu. This region offers excellent opportunities for predator sightings, especially during the calving season when thousands of newborn wildebeest attract lions, leopards, and hyenas. You’ll enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives with a break for lunch either at your lodge or as a picnic in the bush. The day ends with another relaxing evening at your accommodation, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Ngorongoro Crater to Zanzibar (via Arusha Airport)

After an early breakfast, depart Ndutu and drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, descending into one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. The crater floor is home to the Big Five and a wide variety of other animals in a compact, stunning setting. You’ll spend a few hours game viewing before heading to Arusha Airport. From there, board your flight back to Zanzibar, arriving in the evening with memories of a truly spectacular safari.
