Kigali City Tour and Visit to Genocide Memorial

Your driver guide will pick up from your Hotel this morning and embark on a guided city tour to explore Rwanda’s capital. You will visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial for a moving insight into the country’s history, stroll through local markets, and explore art galleries or the presidential palace museum. This cultural introduction will give you context to Rwanda’s remarkable recovery and resilience. Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight in Kigali.

Transfer to Akagera National Park and Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, depart Kigali and enjoy a scenic 2.5-hour drive to Akagera National Park, a haven for savannah wildlife. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch while overlooking the park’s rolling hills. In the afternoon, embark on a short introductory game drive, where you might spot giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and elephants. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay within or near the park.

Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema

You will start early with a sunrise game drive through the northern plains of Akagera with packed breakfast in search of lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and other iconic species. The park is also rich in birdlife and plains game. After lunch, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you’ll see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of aquatic birds along the shores. In the late afternoon, drive back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
