3-Day From Dar City to Savannah -Mikumi Safari by Train

Transfer to Mikumi National Park

You'll be picked up from Dar-es-Salaam in the morning and take a train to Morogoro where by in Morogoro you will be picked up by Safari car and transfer to Mikumi national park. You'll embark on a drive to Mikumi National Park.

You'll check in at your accomodation at the park. Later, you'll head for a game drive in the park in search of elephants, giraffes, lions, hippos in the hippo pools, warthogs, buffaloes, elands, etc.

Later, you'll head back to Mikumi Park Bandas/Cottages for dinner and an overnight stay inside the park. Sleeping inside the park gives you an opportunity to have a long day of game drive until sunset.

Full game drive in mikumi with picnic lunch

On this day, we will start early with a morning game drive to catch the beautiful sunrise and witness the park’s morning wildlife activities as we explore the vast plains of Mikumi. We’ll begin with an exhilarating drive to encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, and a variety of antelope species. For bird enthusiasts, Mikumi offers a vibrant array of species, including the lilac-breasted roller and hornbills.

With a knowledgeable local guide, our safari experience will be enhanced by fascinating insights into animal behavior and the park’s ecosystem. You’ll also have the opportunity to capture the beauty of the park through photography, especially during the golden hours of early morning and late afternoon.

We’ll explore key attractions such as the Vuma Hills Observation Point, Hippo Pools, Miombo Woodlands, and the Kikoboga area — each offering unique wildlife encounters and breathtaking views. Later, we’ll return to our hotel for a restful evening and a delightful dinner.

Morning game drive and transfer back to Dar

Early the morning leave for sunrise Game drives starting from 06:30 am for about 3 hours before breakfast which will be taken within the park. After breakfast will continue with your game drives, watch out to spot the big 5 animals except for the rhinoceros which are missing in this park and other wildlife species.

Later, you will head back to the accomodation for the check out, and transfer to Morogoro to Dar es Salaam by train arriving in the evening.

Drop off at Dar es Salaam and take late ferry to Zanzibar.
We also recommend to take a very late ferry from Dar e s salaam to Zanzibar.
