Tarangire national park
Tarangire is a park of giant baobab trees, rolling savannah, and acacia parkland, offering travellers an authentic and less-crowded safari experience. Its vast landscapes feel untouched, creating a peaceful atmosphere ideal for nature lovers. The park is most famous for its dense wildlife during the dry season from June to September, when thousands of animals—wildebeest, zebra, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, and oryx—migrate from the dry Maasai steppe to the Tarangire River in search of water. This seasonal movement provides excellent game-viewing opportunities. Visitors can also enjoy sightings of large elephant herds among the iconic baobabs. With over 550 bird species recorded, Tarangire is a paradise for birdwatchers. Overall, it offers a quieter, more intimate safari compared to other parks in Tanzania.
