Day 2

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Northern Serengeti (Kogatende area), departing Arusha at 8:00 a.m. and arriving around 10:00 a.m. Upon arrival at Kogatende airstrip, meet your professional driver guide and embark on an afternoon game drive in the Northern Mara. This region is renowned for the Great Migration, where over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras traverse the plains. From July to October, witness the dramatic river crossings and the daily birth of more than 8,000 calves—a true spectacle of survival in the wild.

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in the Mara area to witness the Great Migration. Wildlife is abundant, especially in the Wagakuria region. The Mara River is a highlight, offering a chance to see herds cross north or south, though crossings can be unpredictable and depend on timing. The landscape is breathtaking, with rolling kopjes, woodlands, riverine vegetation, and vast open plains—a perfect setting for incredible wildlife encounters and photography.

After breakfast at the camp, we drive to Central Serengeti, enjoying game drives along the way. As Tanzania's oldest and most celebrated national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Serengeti is renowned for its annual migration, where millions of wildebeest are joined by hundreds of thousands of zebras and Thomson’s gazelles in search of fresh grazing. Even outside migration season, the park offers exceptional wildlife viewing, with large herds of buffalo, elephants, giraffes, and thousands of antelopes including eland, topi, kongoni, impala, and Grant’s gazelle.

After breakfast, enjoy morning game drives in the Serengeti as you make your way to the park gates. Exit the Serengeti and enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with game drives en route through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands. Later, continue to your reserved accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, we will drive to Ngorongoro for a full-day crater tour, including a picnic descent to the crater floor. Home to around 20,000 mammals, including approximately 20 black rhinoceros, the crater offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Tanzania. The floor also supports one of the highest concentrations of carnivores in Africa, with lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals commonly spotted, and leopards, servals, or bat-eared foxes possible with luck. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
