After landing at the airport, our friendly team will greet you and take you to your hotel in Moshi. This day is all about relaxing and recovering from your journey. Settle into your room, enjoy a good meal, and get some rest.
Later, you’ll meet your guide for a full trek briefing. You’ll go over the route, what to expect each day, safety tips, and how to manage the altitude. There will also be a final gear check if you’re missing anything, we’ll help you rent or buy it.

Day 2
Moshi to Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Moshi to Machame Gate to Machame Camp

Route: Moshi to Machame Gate (1,800 m) to Machame Camp (2,835 m)
Highlights: Rainforest adventure, monkeys, colorful birds
After breakfast, drive to Machame Gate and begin your exciting Kilimanjaro climb! Meet your friendly mountain team and start walking through a beautiful green rainforest filled with tall trees, bright flowers, and playful monkeys. Feel the fresh air and energy of the mountain as you hike higher. By late afternoon, arrive at Machame Camp. Enjoy a warm meal, relax, and gaze at the stars your adventure has just begun.

Day 3
Machame Camp to Shira Camp

Route: Machame Camp (2,835 m) to Shira Camp (3,750 m)
Highlights: Moorland views, Shira Plateau, first look at the summit
Today, you leave the rainforest and walk into the open moorland. The trail gets steeper, but the views are wide and beautiful, with tall heather and giant lobelias along the way. As you climb higher, you’ll see your first clear view of Kilimanjaro’s snowy peak an exciting moment! By afternoon, arrive at Shira Camp on the plateau. Enjoy a warm meal, relax, and watch the sunset over the mountain.

Day 4
Shira Camp to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Highlights: Acclimatization, Lava Tower, alpine desert views
Today is an important day to help your body adjust to the altitude. Hike up to the famous Lava Tower, a tall rock formation in the dry alpine desert. Stop for lunch and enjoy the amazing mountain views. Then, walk down into the beautiful Barranco Valley, home to unique plants like the giant senecio. Arrive at Barranco Camp in time for dinner and relax with stunning views of glaciers and ridges.

Day 5
Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Route: Barranco Camp (3,900 m) to Karanga Camp (3,995 m)
Highlights: Barranco Wall climb, glacier and peak views
After breakfast, climb the famous Barranco Wall a steep but fun and rewarding challenge with amazing glacier views from the top. Continue along valleys and ridges until you reach Karanga Camp. This peaceful campsite offers beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro and Mawenzi Peak. Spend the afternoon relaxing, enjoying the scenery, and getting ready for the next stage of your adventure.

Day 6
Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
Route: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673 m)
Highlights: Alpine desert, summit preparation
Today’s trek is shorter but very important. Walk steadily through the dry, rocky alpine desert to reach Barafu Camp, your base for the summit climb. Once at camp, rest, drink plenty of water, and review final plans with your guide. Have an early dinner and get as much sleep as possible your summit attempt starts tonight.
Day 7
Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp

Hiking Time: 12–15 hours
Route: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) to Millennium Camp (3,950 m)
Highlights: Night climb, sunrise summit, glacier views
Wake up around midnight and start the final climb to Uhuru Peak under the stars. This is the toughest part, so take it slow and rest often. At sunrise, reach Stella Point (5,756 m) and then continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa! Celebrate your success, take photos, and enjoy the amazing views. Then descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest before continuing down to Millennium Camp. Enjoy a warm meal and a well-earned sleep after your incredible achievement.

Day 8
Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate

Hiking Time: 4–6 hours
Route: Millennium Camp to Mweka Gate (1,640 m)
Highlights: Rainforest descent, summit certificate
After breakfast, hike down through the peaceful rainforest. The air becomes easier to breathe as you descend. At Mweka Gate, receive your official summit certificate to celebrate your amazing achievement! A driver will take you back to your hotel in Moshi, where you can enjoy a hot shower, a celebratory meal, and some well-earned rest.

Today is your final day with us. After breakfast, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your journey home. You’ll leave Tanzania with unforgettable memories and a great sense of achievement.
