Arrival and Sunset Game Drive in Sabi Sands

Your unforgettable safari adventure begins as you arrive at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA). A friendly driver will meet you and transfer you in comfort through scenic Lowveld landscapes to the Sabi Sands Game Reserve (approximately 2.5 hours).

Upon arrival at Umkumbe Bush Lodge, you’ll be greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and a warm introduction from the lodge team. After check-in, settle into your Luxury Tented Suite a stylish glamping experience featuring air-conditioning, an en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers, and a private deck overlooking a tranquil riverbed frequented by wildlife.

Spend the early afternoon relaxing by the pool or on your deck as you listen to the sounds of nature.
Later, meet your ranger for your first afternoon/sunset game drive, venturing into the Sabi Sands in search of lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo. Enjoy sundowners in the bush as the sky turns orange and pink over the savanna.

Sunrise and Sunset Game Drive In Sabi Sands

Wake up before dawn to the sounds of the bush and enjoy coffee and rusks before setting out on your early morning game drive. The cool morning air offers the best chance to spot predators returning from a night’s hunt, elephants at watering holes, and herds of antelope grazing in the mist.

Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and some leisure time. Spend the rest of the morning and early afternoon relaxing lounge by the pool, watch wildlife from your deck, or opt for an optional bush walk with a guide to discover the smaller details of the ecosystem.

As the afternoon cools, head out again for your evening game drive. Witness Africa’s golden hour as the sun dips behind the acacia trees and the nocturnal creatures start to emerge. Enjoy a sundowner stop in the bush before returning to the lodge.

Dinner is served under the stars, accompanied by the sounds of crickets and distant lions.

Morning Leisure and Departure
