A visit to Ngorongoro Crater offers one of the most spectacular wildlife experiences in Africa. As you descend into the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, you will enter a natural sanctuary filled with diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife.

Inside the crater, you can expect to see large populations of zebras, wildebeests, buffalo, and gazelles, as well as elephants moving through the forested areas. The crater is also one of the best places in Tanzania to spot the endangered black rhino. Predators such as lions and hyenas are commonly seen, while hippos gather in the swamps and lake areas.

With its high concentration of wildlife in a relatively small area, Ngorongoro Crater provides excellent game viewing throughout the day, making it a true highlight of any safari in Tanzania.

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Lake Manyara National Park for an exciting game drive. The park is a birdwatcher’s paradise, with vibrant flamingos adorning the lake. If luck is on your side, you may spot the famous tree-climbing lions. You’ll visit the hippo pool for a close encounter with these giants and explore the hot springs. Along the way, expect to see a variety of wildlife, including buffalo, wildebeest, warthog, monkey, and birds of prey.
