Day 4
Ndutu
Ndutu
After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day game drive in the Ndutu area, a prime spot to witness the Serengeti’s dramatic wildlife. The landscape is a tapestry of habitats swamps alive with birds, acacia woodlands sheltering giraffes, shimmering soda lakes, and the iconic short-grass plains stretching endlessly to the horizon.
Vast herds of wildebeest and zebra roam freely here, and around February, for a brief three-week period, the plains are filled with newborn wildebeest calves. With little cover in the short grass, these vulnerable young are easy targets for predators such as lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. Yet nature’s resilience is remarkable: calves can stand and take their first steps within minutes of birth, and within three days, they are strong enough to keep pace with the migrating herd. Experiencing this cycle of life the newborns, the watchful predators, and the endless golden plains is a truly unforgettable encounter with the raw beauty of the Serengeti.
