Day 1

Start your journey early from Addis Ababa with a scenic drive west toward Ambo, passing green highlands, small villages, and eucalyptus forests. Stop for photos or coffee along the way before arriving at Wenchi Crater Lake, a stunning volcanic basin filled with crystal-clear water and surrounded by lush hills. From the viewpoint near Wenchi Eco Lodge, enjoy panoramic views before beginning your adventure. hike and ride a horse down to the lakeshore through farms, streams, and natural hot springs. Then take a traditional wooden boat across the lake to the island of Cherkos Monastery, where monks share stories of centuries-old traditions. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the lakeside with peaceful views, then hike or ride back to the crater rim. In the afternoon, drive back toward Addis Ababa with a short stop in Ambo town for refreshments before arriving at your hotel in the evening.
