Morogoro -Mikumi National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from Morogoro and begin a scenic drive of approximately 5–6 hours through the Tanzanian countryside to Mikumi National Park.

Upon arrival, check in at Tanapa Mikumi Cottagesi, a comfortable mid-range lodge featuring beautiful gardens, a swimming pool, and an on-site restaurant. After lunch, set out for an afternoon game drive, where you may encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, impalas, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Morning Game Drive & Udzungwa Mountains Hike – Return to Morogoro

Start the day early with a morning game drive in Mikumi National Park, when wildlife is most active. Enjoy watching elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and other species in the cool morning hours as the savannah comes alive.

After the game drive and breakfast at the lodge, depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Park for an exciting adventure hike via the Sanje Route, one of the park’s most scenic trails. During the hike, you’ll trek through lush rainforest, encounter unique endemic wildlife, and reach the spectacular Sanje Waterfalls, where you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery and take photos.

After descending the trail, drive through the park and continue along the scenic routes, with opportunities to spot wildlife along the way, until reaching the main road. From there, continue the drive back to Morogoro, arriving in the evening and concluding your 2-day safari.
