In the afternoon, depart the park and continue to Karatu, a charming highland town nestled on the green slopes just outside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s greatest wildlife sanctuaries. Descend 600 meters into the crater floor for a full morning game drive. This natural amphitheater is home to an astonishing array of wildlife, including black rhinos, elephants, lions, hippos, hyenas, flamingos, and vast herds of antelope. Enjoy a picnic lunch beside a hippo pool before ascending the crater wall in the afternoon.
