9-Day The Mighty Kalahari

Arrival

Our partner's crew will pick you up at Maun in the morning and drive with you along a sandy road for about three hours to Migration Expeditions Camp in the Nxai Pan National Park. Watch out for rough patches. Once arrived at the camp, you will get safety instructions and be catered to by the crew. After having had time to rest and get settled in, there will be a game drive. Back at the camp, you will have time for yourself before going on another exciting game drive with a sundowner at the end. Dinner will be served afterwards and you will have time to sit by the fire, listening to interesting stories.

Nxai Pan

After waking up in the beautiful environment of Nxai which offers a lot of wildlife including elephant herds, different antelope species, as well as predators who feed on them, you will be having a tasty breakfast. Afterwards, there will be an interesting game drive. Back at the the camp, you will be having lunch and time for yourself. In the afternoon, there will be another game drive with a sundowner at the end.

Note: On the third day, our partner's crew will drive with you to your new home at Makgadikgadi Pans after lunch. The driving distance is about 1.5 to 2 hours.

Makgadikgadi Pans

After having settled in at the camp the day before, and woken up to the sound of birds and/or other animals, you will be having breakfast before going on another amazing game drive. The Makgadikgadi Pans are one of the earth's largest salt flats. They offer a unique landscape with shimmering lights that reflect from the salty surface. You can also see vast migrating herds of zebras or wildebeests there, as well as spot flamingos. Back at the the camp, there will be lunch and resting time, before having another game drive with a sundowner.

Central Kalahari Game Reserve

One more day at the iconic Pans. On this day you will have one more game drive. After lunch, later on, you will have time to gather all of your belongings, before heading out to another interesting place; the semi-arid Kalahari savannah. This scenic drive will take about four to five hours. After arriving and settling in, there will be another tasty meal.

Central Kalahari Game Reserve

After waking up, and having had time for breakfast, you may want to stroll around the camp and enjoy this great land. The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is one of the largest in the world. It is the home of teeming wildlife including lions, cheetahs, and the rare brown hyena. Due to its isolated position, it is ideal for adventurers seeking an authentic wilderness experience. The best time of the year for spotting animals is during the rainy season from November to March. There will be a game drive, lunch, and then another drive with a sundowner at the end.

Maun Hotel

At your last day at the camp, you will have breakfast, and afterwards you will have plenty of time to gather all of your belongings. Then, the crew will drive you for about four to five hours back to Maun. There you will stay in a comfortable and atmospheric hotel, the Three Tree Hotel. There you can relax from your adventure and enjoy tasty Indian cuisine or other meals with wine, beer, etc.

Maun Airport

This is the day of your departure, after having woken up in the beautiful city of Maun, the entrance to the Okavango Delta, the crew will pick you up at the Three Tree Hotel and bring you to the airport, or another destination in Maun, if requested.
