Just 30 minutes from town, Arusha National Park offers one of Tanzania’s most exciting experiences: a walking safari! With an armed ranger, you’ll explore the forest, lakes, and open plains on foot, coming close to giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, colobus monkeys, and countless birds. Each district of the park has its own charm, from the flamingo-filled Momella Lakes to the dramatic landscapes around Mount Meru and Ngurdoto Crater.

After breakfast, we’ll circle the lake for some early wildlife sightings before heading toward Serengeti National Park. Entering through Klein’s Gate, we’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive across the outstretched plains, home to over 3,000 predators! This is one of the best places on Earth to experience predator-filled landscapes.

Today we begin with a sunrise game drive, when the predators are most active. Then, we’ll spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti’s endless plains. With a bit of luck, you might witness the Great Migration: millions of animals on the move in one of nature’s most impressive spectacles.

After a scenic drive, enjoy a walk along the Ngorongoro Crater rim, guided by a local ranger, where you'll be able to take in the breathtaking views of the crater. You’ll pass beautiful wildflowers and trees that only grow here. Along the way, look for birds, giraffes, zebras, or elephants. Your ranger will share fascinating insights about the area’s unique flora and fauna.

In the morning, you will have an exciting drive over a rough road with stunning views of the crater. Once you've arrived on the crater floor, you will have the chance to spot the Big 5 (even the black rhinoceros!). Midday you will stop at a lake filled with hippos and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Leaving early at around 5 am, we’ll drive to a more remote area of Lake Eyasi to meet the Hadzabe, one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in the world. They also speak a fascinating click language. They will welcome you into their daily routines; you can even join them on a real hunt! After lunch, enjoy a walk along Lake Eyasi, known for its birdlife, and you can occasionally spot hippos or flamingos.

Today we’ll visit the Datoga tribe, who live a traditional life with deep pride in their heritage. They are skilled blacksmiths who make arrowheads and tools that they trade with the Hadzabe. They are also known as breeders and hunters in their own right. You will be able to learn about their ironwork, culture, and unique craftsmanship.
