Day 1

Arrive at Entebbe Airport & transfer to Kampala (1hr drive)

On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, the Company Rep will be waiting to receive you and there- on transfer you to Kampala.
You will have a pre-safari briefing on this day to answer all your queries, get all clarifications about the safari.

Dependent on your time of arrival, you will enjoy an afternoon tour of Kampala with a visit to the 4Africa Offices one of the local community initiatives that helps improve the lives of women and children through Craft. There are plenty of beautiful souvenirs you can purchase from purses, necklaces, animated stuffed Knit dolls & so much more
Arrivals on Wed, Fri & Sunday the evenings will be spent at Ndere Cultural Centre taking you around Ugandan Culture through Music & Dance. African Buffet dinner will be served before proceeding for overnight.

Day 2

Kampala to Kibale National Park (Approx 6hrs drive)

Early morning breakfast after which checkout and transfer to Kibale National Park.
Arrival in time for lunch at Kibale Forest Camp.

Later afternoon transfer for the 3 hr nature walk in the Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary. The “Home of the Great Blue Turaco” is a real bird watcher’s paradise. This wonderful place shelters over 200 species of birds. Furthermore, the sanctuary is the home of 8 species of primates.
Return to Kibale Forest Camp in the evening to settle in for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Chimpanzee trekking & Crater lake Tour

After breakfast, it’s an early start to the Kibale Forest National Park headquarters arriving by 8am to track the habituated Chimps. These engaging apes, our closest living relative, are great fun to watch as they play and fight in the fruit trees. The experienced guides will introduce you to the different members of the chimp families, as well as the birds and plant life of the forest.
Return to the lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon tour of the crater lakes within the area.

Breakfast and check out transferring to Queen Elizabeth N.P going via the Kasese Equator monument site.
Enjoy a game viewing drive into the Park.
Early lunch and by 2:00pm depart for the boat ride along the Kazinga Channel.
This ride lasts 3hrs with so much to see: Buffaloes, hippos, Nile Crocodile, birds by the channel, local fishing villages this is the main water point of this area so plenty of animals come
Dinner and overnight at Marafiki Safari Lodge or Similar.

After breakfast checkout of Marafiki Safari Lodge going via the Ishasha Lion Tree climbing area on your way to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Ruhija.

Arriving late afternoon to check-in have dinner and overnight at Bakiga Lodge or Similar.

Day 6

Bwindi Gorilla trekking

Early morning transfer to the trailhead in the national park where you will join your group for a briefing before setting off on the trek. As the gorillas move constantly searching for food, the trek duration will vary, however the anticipation and the beauty of the forest make it all worthwhile. After the gorillas have been located you will spend an amazing hour in their company.
Return to your lodge later afternoon and spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Breakfast, lunch and overnight at Bakiga Lodge or Similar.

Breakfast and check out from Bakiga Lodge to start your journey into Rwanda. For immigration purposes you will go via cyanika Border where you will obtain clearance & Visas into Rwanda at this point for Usd 50 per person.
Have a stop at Migano Cafe & Hotel for lunch and there on proceed to the Dian Fossey Museum located in Musanze just outside Volcanoes Nat Park.
The Museum was founded by the Karisoke Research Center & was initially operated by Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International. Both the research center & gorilla fund were founded in remembrance of Dian Fossey.
This gorilla museum holds several photographs, historic objects, information and various interactive activities about mountain gorilla conservation and protection. The exhibit center is considered a must-visit after or before gorilla trekking. The visit will last approximately 3 hours.

After the visit proceed to check-in, rest, have dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla lodge.

Day 8

After breakfast transfer to Volcanoes Nat Park for the hike to the Dian Fossey Tomb.
The hike begins at slopes of Mt Bisoke & upon arrival at the Tomb site you will be briefed and educated about Dian Fossey who sacrificed her life to save the Mountain Gorillas that were hunted so much at the time.
The hike also offers stunning views of the Park as you go higher watch wildlife like golden monkeys, forest elephants, buffaloes, antelope, and birds. The hike lasts approximately 3-4hrs and we advise guests to have on comfortable natural colored clothing and good hiking shoes.
There will also be a 1hour stop at the Gorilla guardians village which is also known as Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, meaning ‘treasure of our home’. The village gives an insight into the everyday lives of the village communities in ancient Rwanda without leaving out their music & dance. Return to La Bamboo for lunch before proceeding to Kigali.

After breakfast in the morning transfer to the Genocide Memorial site.
Rwanda cannot write its history without mentioning what it went through and this site reminds her of how many people had to lose their lives for the Country to stand right now.
The memorial gardens provide a place for quiet contemplation about the history of the Genocide against the Tutsi. They allow visitors to reflect on how we all have a personal responsibility to prevent discrimination and mass atrocity.
The Centre also provides support for survivors, in particular orphans and widows. You will have a guided tour of this site. There will be a stop for lunch before proceeding to the Airport for your departure flight.
