Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Your day begins with a hotel pickup, where you’ll meet your guide, chef, and fellow travelers before setting off for Tarangire National Park, a scenic two-hour drive away. Known for its striking baobab-dotted landscape, Tarangire is home to Tanzania’s largest elephant population, offering exceptional opportunities to watch these giants interact in their natural habitat. As we explore the park, we’ll follow areas with recent wildlife activity, increasing our chances of spotting elusive predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Herbivores like giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest are commonly seen grazing across the plains. After a relaxing picnic lunch, the adventure continues with an afternoon game drive through different sections of the park. We expect to leave Tarangire around 4:30 pm and continue to the campsite, where dinner will be served before settling in for the night.

The route passes through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you’ll pause at the gate and the famous crater viewpoint to admire the sweeping landscape below. There is also an optional opportunity to visit a Maasai village for an introduction to their traditions, daily lifestyle, and cultural history, far removed from old tales of lion hunting and ritual practices.

By early afternoon, you will enter the Serengeti and continue toward the Seronera region for a game drive. This central area is rich in wildlife activity, offering excellent chances to spot lions, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, buffaloes, and various antelope species as they move or graze. Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

The day begins with an early breakfast before setting out for a morning game drive, giving you the best chance to observe wildlife while the animals are most active. The journey continues with a final game-viewing drive as you make your way toward the park’s exit, offering more opportunities to spot predators, grazers, and birds along the route. Once outside Serengeti, the drive to the Ngorongoro highlands takes around two hours. Your destination is Simba Campsite, situated close to the rim of the crater and known for its beautiful high-altitude scenery.
