Arusha (1400m) – Miriakamba Hut (2500m) Above The Sea Level

After an early breakfast in Arusha (1400m), you’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to Momella Gate in Arusha National Park. While the porters organize and prepare the gear, you and your guide will complete park registration before beginning your ascent.

Your first day on Mount Meru feels like a true walking safari. As you hike through lush forests and open grasslands, you may encounter giraffes, zebras, buffalo, antelopes, and even elephants grazing near the trail. Because of this abundant wildlife, an armed ranger from the national park will accompany your group for safety throughout the trek.

The route leads past the Ngarenanyuki River and a beautiful waterfall at the base of Meru, offering excellent photo stops. By late afternoon, you'll reach Miriakamba Hut (2500m), where your mountain chef will prepare a hot dinner and warm washing water.

End your day by enjoying sweeping views and a stunning sunset over the national park before settling in for a restful overnight stay.
