Nairobi to Maasai Mara

The adventure begins with an early morning departure from Nairobi, driving through the scenic Great Rift Valley. Guests enjoy breathtaking views of escarpments, lakes, and rolling hills, with opportunities for photography along the way. The journey continues past Narok town before arriving at the Maasai Mara by mid‑afternoon. After check‑in at the lodge or camp, guests embark on their first game drive, exploring the vast plains dotted with wildlife. Lions, elephants, zebras, and giraffes are often spotted within hours of arrival. As the sun sets, guests return to camp for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the sounds of the bush.

Maasai Mara National Reserve

This day is dedicated to a full‑day game drive, offering maximum time to explore the Mara’s diverse habitats. Guests depart after breakfast with picnic lunches packed, allowing them to spend the entire day in the reserve. The drive covers open savannahs, riverine forests, and the famous Mara River, where crocodiles and hippos thrive. Depending on the season, travelers may witness the dramatic wildebeest migration, a spectacle of millions of animals crossing the river. Throughout the day, sightings of the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—are common, along with cheetahs, hyenas, and countless antelope species. Lunch is enjoyed at a scenic spot under the shade of an acacia tree, before continuing the adventure into the afternoon. Guests return to camp in the evening for dinner and storytelling around the fire.
