Mombasa to Ngutuni Sanctuary

Your safari begins early with a hotel pick-up and a scenic drive to Ngutuni Wildlife Sanctuary, a private conservancy famed for its rich wildlife and peaceful setting. Entering the sanctuary, the landscape opens into vast plains framed by acacia trees and the distant Ngutuni Hills. Begin your first game drive, spotting elephants, lions, giraffes, antelopes, zebras, and diverse birdlife. Morning is one of the most active times, offering excellent chances to see animals grazing, hunting, or gathering at waterholes. Afterward, enjoy lunch at Ngutuni Lodge overlooking a busy waterhole, followed by a short rest. In the afternoon, head out for another drive as temperatures cool and more wildlife emerges. Return in the evening for dinner and a relaxing night watching animals visit the waterhole below the lodge.

Ngutuni to Taita Hills

The following morning begins with an early breakfast before checking out and continuing to Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, a private conservancy known for its rolling hills, elevated views, and abundant wildlife. Upon arrival, you head straight into a game drive, exploring varied landscapes of open plains, rocky outcrops, and woodland patches. After a late-morning drive, you reach your lodge, often the iconic Salt Lick Safari Lodge, built on stilts overlooking a large waterhole. Enjoy lunch while watching animals gather below. In the afternoon, embark on another extended drive through the sanctuary’s hills in search of elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and other wildlife. The dramatic terrain offers excellent photography and viewing opportunities. As evening falls, return to the lodge for dinner and a night observing wildlife at the illuminated waterhole.

Taita Hills to Mombasa

On your final morning, you rise early for a sunrise game drive, one of the best times to experience wildlife movement. The sanctuary is calm and vibrant at this hour, offering a chance to spot animals you may not have seen earlier. After the drive, you return to the lodge for breakfast and a bit of time to relax before checking out. As you leave the sanctuary, you enjoy a final short game drive to capture any last-minute sightings. You then begin your journey back toward your hotel or onward destination, arriving in the afternoon with unforgettable memories of your safari through Ngutuni and Taita Hills.
