Day 1

Diani to Ngutuni Sanctuary

Diani to Ngutuni Sanctuary

Your safari begins early with a hotel pick-up followed by a gentle drive to Ngutuni Wildlife Sanctuary. As you enter the reserve, the landscape opens into wide plains framed by acacia trees and the Ngutuni Hills. You begin your first game drive, exploring this wildlife-rich conservancy home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. The soft morning light offers ideal visibility for sightings and photography. After an exciting morning, you proceed to Ngutuni Lodge for lunch, where a busy waterhole provides constant wildlife viewing from the dining deck. After a short rest, you head out again for an afternoon game drive, venturing deeper into the sanctuary as animals become more active in the cooler hours. You return to the lodge at sunset to enjoy dinner and a relaxing night watching wildlife gather at the illuminated waterhole below your room.

The scenery shifts into rugged volcanic hills, dense woodlands, lava fields, and sweeping valleys. Inside Tsavo West, you enjoy a game drive toward your lodge, watching for elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and if lucky predators moving through the thicker vegetation. After lunch at your lodge, you have time to relax before heading out for an afternoon exploration. Tsavo West’s varied landscape offers highlights such as the Shetani Lava Flow and the freshwater springs of Mzima, where hippos and fish can often be viewed from underwater galleries.
