Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your safari driver will welcome you and transfer you to Arusha, an easy one-hour journey. You’ll spend the night at The Karibu Heritage House, a comfortable base to relax before heading into the bush the next day. With the city center just a short walk away, you can enjoy a peaceful evening in Arusha ahead of your adventure.

Day 2

From Arusha to the Wilds of Tarangire National Park

After enjoying breakfast, your driver-guide will collect you from the lodge and take you to Tarangire National Park for an exciting game drive. Famous for having northern Tanzania’s biggest elephant herds, Tarangire comes alive during the Dry season, offering exceptional wildlife viewing. You may spot thousands of zebra and wildebeest, as well as lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs, and several gazelle species along with four of the Big Five. You’ll overnight at your selected lodge or camp, with the option to upgrade if desired.

Exploring Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you’ll set off for Lake Manyara National Park, entering through the park’s southern gate for a full-day game drive. Lake Manyara, a striking alkaline lake, is ideal for a short but rewarding safari. The park offers abundant wildlife and breathtaking views of the Rift Valley often considered among the most spectacular panoramas in Africa.

You can expect to see large troops of baboons, a rich variety of birdlife, and numerous herbivores including hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalos, warthogs, and giraffes, all set against the backdrop of magnificent giant fig trees. With a bit of luck, you may even spot lions or leopards.

After breakfast, you’ll set off for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, taking packed picnic lunches for the day’s adventure. After arrival and registration, you will descend into the legendary Ngorongoro Crater often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World” for a memorable game drive. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has preserved its natural beauty for thousands of years and supports an exceptionally rich ecosystem.

Inside the crater’s towering walls, roughly 25,000 large animals inhabit the plains, forests, and lakes. You may encounter black rhinos, elusive leopards, striking black-maned lions, and flocks of colorful flamingos.

Following this remarkable experience, you will drive back to Arusha.
