Pickup in Arusha – Tarangire – Mto wa Mbu

Your journey begins with an early morning departure from Arusha. You will be picked up at your own arranged accommodation in Arusha City. After two hours on the road, you arrive at the gates of Tarangire National Park, a vast wilderness renowned for its ancient baobab trees and dense populations of elephants.
Once inside the park, your game drive begins across wide, open plains dotted with massive, centuries-old baobabs standing like silent sentinels. Almost immediately, you are likely to see herds of elephants moving in slow, deliberate lines toward the Tarangire River, the park’s life-giving artery. This river never fully dries and draws wildlife from across the region, especially during the dry season. Along the riverbanks, you might spot impalas, zebras, and wildebeests mingling while pairs of lilac-breasted rollers flash their brilliant colors as they dart between tree branches.

You will embark on your first game drive across the Seronera Valley, an area renowned for its high density of predators. Lions are often found resting on rocky kopjes or lazing beneath trees, while leopards drape themselves across low branches, half-hidden by leaves. Cheetahs patrol the open plains, scanning for gazelles, and hyenas trot purposefully across the grasslands in search of scavenging opportunities. Formed millions of years ago from a collapsed volcano, the Ngorongoro Crater is often called Africa’s Eden for its extraordinary concentration of wildlife in such a compact and self-contained environment.
As you descend the steep crater walls, the air grows warmer and the landscape spreads out like a living tapestry. The open grasslands are dotted with wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles grazing together while ostriches stride across the plains with stately calm.
