The journey from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area takes approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival, you will check in to your lodge before heading out for an afternoon game drive inside the crater. This is an excellent opportunity to encounter diverse wildlife such as zebras, hippos, buffaloes, and the highly endangered black rhino, all set against the dramatic and unmatched scenery of the crater floor.

Your day concludes with a breathtaking sunset over the crater before returning to your lodge for a relaxing evening.

Full-day Game Drive Safari in Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you’ll descend once more into the Ngorongoro Crater for another thrilling game drive. Early morning is prime time for wildlife viewing, with animals active in the cool air. You’ll explore the crater’s most iconic spots, including Lake Magadi home to elegant flamingos and the hippo pool, where large pods of hippos enjoy the water.

Along the way, keep an eye out for members of the Big Five, as well as elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, and many other species that thrive in this remarkable ecosystem.

Around midday, enjoy a scenic picnic lunch surrounded by the breathtaking crater landscape. In the afternoon, continue your safari, revisiting areas of interest or simply soaking in the spectacular views.

Later in the day, begin your journey back to Arusha, arriving in the evening with unforgettable memories of one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife experiences.
