Day 1
Fly from Serengeti to Bwindi (via Entebbe)
Fly from Serengeti to Bwindi (via Entebbe)
Your day begins with a relaxed breakfast at your Serengeti lodge before driving to your nearest airstrip. Most Serengeti departures leave between 08:00–10:00, with the first flight taking 1–1.5 hours toward northern Tanzania. As you descend into Entebbe, you enjoy sweeping views of Lake Victoria. After a smooth 20–30 minute customs process, connect to your domestic flight to Kihihi—an incredibly scenic 1 hour 15 minutes flight over rolling highlands and crater-like valleys.
Your Nandi Adventures guide meets you on arrival for the 1 hr 10 min private drive to Silverback Lodge, Bwindi’s newest luxury lodge. Elevated on a forested hillside, Silverback Lodge offers sweeping canopy views, private terraces, warm interiors, and the soft hum of the rainforest. After check-in, enjoy a gentle pre-trek briefing followed by a gourmet dinner on the terrace as mist rises from the valley.

Day 2
First Face to Face Meeting with Gorilla Family in Bwindi
First Face to Face Meeting with Gorilla Family in Bwindi
Begin with an early breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for your briefing at 07:45. Rangers explain the family you’ll visit, trekking etiquette, and what signs they use—fresh nests, broken stems, distant calls—to locate the gorillas.
Trekking begins around 08:30, with your route weaving through steep hillsides, vines, bamboo pockets, and moss-covered trees. Depending on where your gorilla family moved overnight, the trek may be 2–6 hours, with frequent stops for photos and hydration.
When you finally reach them, the world becomes wonderfully quiet—just the sound of feeding, soft grunts, and leaves cracking under their weight. Spend one extraordinary hour observing mothers groom their young, adolescents climb, and the silverback’s powerful calm presence. Return to Silverback Lodge for a warm lunch and a restful afternoon. Enjoy views from your private terrace, opt for a massage, or take a guided community walk. Dinner is served with panoramic forest views.

Day 3
Second Gorilla Trek with a New Gorilla Family
Second Gorilla Trek with a New Gorilla Family
Today offers a completely new experience as you trek in a different sector or visit a new gorilla family with distinct personalities and group dynamics. After breakfast, return to the park headquarters for your second briefing. With trackers already ahead in the forest, you begin your trek around 08:30. Depending on nest locations, today’s trek might be shorter—or more adventurous—than yesterday. The terrain shifts from narrow jungle trails to open shaded clearings, giving you new photographic opportunities.
Your one-hour encounter feels deeper and more familiar now—you recognize behaviors, anticipate movement, and capture better images. Photographers love the second trek for the improved confidence it brings. After returning to the lodge, enjoy lunch and a slow, restful afternoon. Spend the rest of the day at leisure: visit the Gorilla Research Clinic (costs apply), or sit quietly watching mist rise from the ridges. Your last dinner in Bwindi is warm, intimate, and unhurried.

Day 4
Fly Back to Entebbe & Depart
Fly Back to Entebbe & Depart
After a slow breakfast at Silverback Lodge, your guide drives you back to Kihihi for your return 1 hr 15 min flight to Entebbe. Flights are usually mid-morning or mid-day, giving you time for a relaxed farewell to the rainforest. On arrival in Entebbe, you may connect directly to your international flight or enjoy a day room and lunch near the airport. Travelers with more time can add a Lake Victoria sunset cruise, visit a craft market, or continue to Zanzibar, Serengeti, or Nairobi for the next leg of their adventure.
You depart Uganda with the unforgettable sense of having stepped into the world of mountain gorillas—twice—experiencing their everyday life in a way few travelers ever do. And the comfort, care, and luxury of Bwindi’s newest lodge.
We hope to see you again.
