Traveling from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a scenic and culturally rich road trip that reveals the beauty of rural Uganda. Along the way, you’re likely to encounter:

You’ll pass through green landscapes, tea plantations, banana plantations, and terraced hills as you move deeper toward southwestern Uganda.

Walking to the Mountain Gorillas

After an early breakfast, you head to the park headquarters for a short briefing before beginning your guided trek into Bwindi’s dense forest. Following the trackers, you hike through the jungle until you find your assigned gorilla family. You then spend an unforgettable hour watching the gorillas feed, play, and interact up close. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
