After a transfer from Moshi or Arusha, complete registration at Lemosho Gate and meet your guides. Trek through dense rainforest, spotting monkeys, exotic birds, and giant ferns along the trail. The gradual ascent allows you to enjoy the lush scenery before arriving at Big Tree Camp, your first night on the mountain, surrounded by tranquility and nature.

Day 2

Leave the rainforest behind as you ascend into open moorland, with panoramic views of Kilimanjaro’s northern slopes. Trek across volcanic ridges and encounter unique high-altitude flora, including giant lobelias and groundsels. Reach Shira 1 Camp, and enjoy the spectacular sunset over the plains while acclimatizing to higher elevations.

Day 4

Descend slightly into the Barranco Valley, surrounded by cliffs and volcanic formations. Take on the famous Barranco Wall, a challenging but rewarding scramble offering breathtaking views. Overnight at Barranco Camp, enjoying the dramatic alpine environment and sense of accomplishment.

Day 5

Trek across rocky alpine desert, passing ridges and valleys with sparse vegetation. Ascend steadily to Barafu Camp, your base for the final summit attempt. Spend the afternoon resting, hydrating, and mentally preparing for the challenging midnight climb, while taking in stunning views of Kibo Peak and surrounding landscapes.

Day 6
Barafu Camp (4670m) – Uhuru Peak (5895m) – Mweka Camp (3100m)

Begin the final ascent at midnight, climbing steeply to Stella Point (5,739m) before continuing along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, the Roof of Africa. Witness the sunrise and celebrate reaching Africa’s highest point. Descend to Barafu Camp for a short rest, then continue to Mweka Camp, passing through alpine desert and rainforest while reflecting on your achievement.

Day 7

Complete your descent through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate, where climbers receive an official summit certificate. Transfer back to Moshi or Arusha, celebrating the adventure, the diverse landscapes, wildlife, and the personal triumph of conquering the Lemosho Route.
