Departing Lusaka by road, your convoy winds through rural Zambia—small roadside markets, farming communities, and village life offering a genuine look into the country’s spirit. This isn’t the Zambia seen from the sky—this is Zambia felt on the ground, shared with its people.
Descending into the lush Zambezi Valley, you arrive at Kasaka Self-Catering Camp, your riverside base set within the wild buffer zone of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Elephant pathways, hippo grunts through the night, and fish eagles overhead remind you that here, nature is in charge. This afternoon you will take a slow river cruise and enjoy a sundowner on the mighty Zambezi before returning back to camp to freshen up, pre dinner drinks and then your dinner before calling it a day.

Early morning Canoeing Safari followed by afternoon Tiger fishing
Morning
Drift quietly along the Zambezi with only the dip of your paddle breaking the silence. From your canoe, you feel part of the river—eye-level with basking crocodiles, hippos wallowing, and elephants drinking at the water’s edge. Expert river guides ensure comfort and safety while sharing stories of the river, wildlife behaviour, and local culture. This is the most intimate way to experience the Lower Zambezi
Afternoon
Later, board a river boat for an exhilarating session of tiger fishing—Africa’s fiercest freshwater sport fish. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned angler, the thrill of a strike will leave your pulse racing. Between casts, take in herds of elephant on the banks and the endless birdlife above. As the sun drops, anchor in a quiet channel. Ice-cold drinks come out, the river glows gold, and hippo calls echo through the valley. This pairing of canoeing and tiger fishing delivers two of the Lower Zambezi’s most iconic river experiences in one day.
