The tour begins in Addis Ababa. Clients travel independently to Arba Minch. Upon arrival in Arba Minch, meet your professional guide and continue by road to the Dorze highlands. Visit traditional Dorze villages known for their beehive-shaped houses and weaving culture. Observe cotton weaving demonstrations, interact with local families, and enjoy scenic Rift Valley views before returning to Arba Minch for overnight.

Lake Chamo Boat Safari & Konso Cultural Visit

After an early breakfast, enjoy a morning boat trip on Lake Chamo, home to large Nile crocodiles, hippos, and diverse birdlife. After the boat safari, drive south toward Konso and visit the Konso Cultural Landscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its stone terraces and fortified villages. Learn about the Konso people’s unique social organization and traditional farming practices before continuing the drive to the Turmi area.

Key Afer Market & Hamer Cultural Experience

Drive to the colorful Key Afer market, one of the most important meeting points for tribes in the Lower Omo Valley (subject to market day). Members of different ethnic groups gather here to trade goods, socialize, and display traditional attire. After the market visit, continue to nearby Hamer villages around Turmi to learn about their customs, hairstyles, body adornments, and daily life through guided cultural interaction.

Hamer Ceremony & Karo Tribe Visit drive to Arba minch

Attend a Hamer bull-jumping ceremony when available. This important rite of passage is marked by traditional dancing, chanting, and ritual celebrations. If the ceremony is not taking place, extended time is spent learning about Hamer culture and village life. After the cultural experience, drive to the Omo River to visit the Karo tribe, well known for their expressive body painting and riverside settlements. In the afternoon, begin the scenic drive toward Arba Minch.

Addis Ababa City Tour & Farewell Dinner

After breakfast, clients travel independently from Arba Minch to Addis Ababa. Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, enjoy a short city tour, which may include a visit to the National Museum of Ethiopia, home to the famous Lucy fossil, Holy Trinity Cathedral or the Ethnological Museum, and a drive through key city landmarks. In the evening, enjoy a traditional farewell dinner at a cultural restaurant with Ethiopian cuisine, live music, and dance performances before transfer to the hotel or airport.
