Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred directly to Tarangire National Park, approximately 2–3 hours’ drive (~120 km). Entering the park, you are immediately immersed in its dramatic landscapes of rolling savannahs, acacia woodlands, and iconic baobab trees.
Embark on your first afternoon game drive, where you can spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and a variety of bird species along the Tarangire River and open plains. The park’s unique dry-season wildlife gatherings and scenic beauty offer excellent photography and an exciting introduction to northern Tanzania’s wilderness. Activities include game drives, wildlife photography, birdwatching, and guided commentary on the park’s flora, fauna, and ecosystems. After breakfast, drive from your lodge to Lake Eyasi, a shallow endorheic lake situated in northern Tanzania, approximately 2–3 hours from Arusha or Karatu. This area is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities, offering a unique opportunity to experience one of Africa’s last hunter-gatherer cultures. Explore the semi-arid landscapes, acacia woodlands, and marshy lakeshores, observing local wildlife such as birds, baboons, and small antelope.
Engage in cultural interactions with the Hadzabe people, learning about their traditional hunting techniques, foraging practices, and daily life. Guests can accompany local guides on a walking expedition with bows and arrows, gaining hands-on insight into their ancient way of life. After breakfast at your lodge, spend a full day exploring Central Serengeti National Park, the heart of Tanzania’s iconic wilderness. This area is known for its vast golden plains, scattered kopjes, and acacia woodlands, providing perfect habitats for lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. Morning and afternoon game drives offer opportunities to witness predator-prey interactions, herd movements, and rare sightings of cheetahs and hyenas. Optional activities include a hot air balloon safari at sunrise, giving breathtaking aerial views of the endless savannah and wildlife below.

Day 4

After breakfast in Central Serengeti National Park, depart for Karatu with a scenic drive of approximately 150–180 km (4–5 hours). Enjoy an en-route game drive across the Serengeti’s vast plains, spotting wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests before exiting the park. As you leave the savannah behind, the landscape gradually transforms into the lush Ngorongoro Highlands, characterized by rolling hills, volcanic ridges, and green farmland.
Arrive in Karatu around midday or early afternoon and enjoy lunch at your lodge, surrounded by peaceful countryside views. In the afternoon, optional activities include guided nature walks, visits to local coffee or banana farms, and cultural interactions with nearby communities. Activities during the day include game drives, wildlife photography, scenic viewing, and cultural experiences, making this transition both relaxing and enriching as you prepare for the Ngorongoro Crater adventure.

Ngorongoro to arusha
Drive approximately 2–3 hours (~120 km) to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying scenic views of the highlands along the way. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a UNESCO World Heritage site, renowned for its unique ecosystem and dense concentration of wildlife. Explore the crater floor on a full-day game drive, where you may spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, black rhinos, zebras, and wildebeests within a stunning landscape of open grasslands, acacia forests, and freshwater swamps.
Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and abundant birdlife. Activities include game drives, wildlife photography, and guided interpretation of the crater’s geology, flora, and fauna.
In the afternoon, ascend the crater and begin the scenic drive back to Arusha (~3–4 hours). As your safari concludes.
