Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by your safari guide and transferred to your lodge in Arusha. This first day is reserved for rest and acclimatization after your international journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the lodge, enjoy the gardens, or take a short stroll to admire views of Mount Meru. In the evening, your guide will provide a briefing outlining the safari itinerary, wildlife expectations, and practical details. Dinner will be served at the lodge, followed by an overnight stay in comfortable accommodation.

Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy a full-day game drive across open savannahs, riverine woodland, and seasonal swamps. Wildlife commonly seen includes elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and many bird species. A picnic lunch will be served inside the park. Afternoon game viewing continues before heading to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight in a comfortable mid-range setting.

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This volcanic caldera is home to dense wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas, and the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch near the hippo pool before continuing your game drive across grasslands and wetlands. In the afternoon, ascend the crater rim and transfer to your lodge in the highlands. Dinner and overnight at a comfortable mid-range lodge with stunning views of the crater.

Mto wa Mbu Cultural Activities & Departure

After breakfast, explore Mto wa Mbu, visiting a traditional Maasai boma to learn about local life and customs. After the cultural experience, return to Arusha and transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your onward flight, marking the end of your 4-day Tanzania safari.
