Fly from Zanzibar to southern Serengeti (Ndutu) game drive at Ndutu area (Wildebeest calving season)

Today starts with a morning flight from Zanzibar Airport at 8:00 am to the Serengeti. You will land at Ndutu Airstrip at approximately 11:00 am, where your professional safari guide will meet you and begin a game drive across the Ndutu plains. This area is well known for its wide open landscapes and abundant wildlife, especially during the Great Migration period. A packed lunch will be enjoyed at a picnic site inside the park, surrounded by nature. After lunch, the game drive continues through the afternoon, allowing time to spot predators and grazing herds.

The game drive ends in the late afternoon around 4:00 pm, followed by a transfer to your camp or lodge. Dinner will be served between 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm, and you will enjoy an overnight stay.

The Ndutu calving season usually occurs from late January to March, when over 400,000 wildebeest calves are born on the nutrient-rich grasslands, attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas.

Continue with wildlife game drive at Southern Serengeti (Ndutu)- Wildebeest Calving season

The Ndutu calving season is one of the most remarkable phases of the Great Wildebeest Migration and usually takes place from late January to March in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu region of Tanzania. During this period, more than 400,000 wildebeest calves are born on the fertile, nutrient-rich grasslands that flourish after the short rains.

These open plains become a natural nursery, attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, offering exceptional wildlife viewing.

Each day, you will enjoy a packed lunch at a designated picnic site inside the park in the afternoon. Game drives typically conclude in the evening around 4:00 pm, after which you will return to the lodge. Dinner will be served between 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm, followed by a restful overnight stay.

Game drive at Ngorongoro crater then drive back to Arusha airport for flight to back to Zanzibar

Begin your day with an early breakfast at 7:00 am as you prepare for the final day of your safari. You will then depart for the Ngorongoro Crater, where you will enjoy a rewarding game drive lasting into the afternoon. Ngorongoro is famous for its vast volcanic caldera, the largest intact and unflooded crater in the world, measuring about 20 kilometers in diameter and plunging 600 meters deep. The crater floor covers roughly 300 square kilometers and supports an incredible concentration of wildlife. During your exploration, you will visit Lake Magadi, a shallow alkaline lake known for attracting black rhinos, flamingos, hippos, and a variety of water birds.

After enjoying a picnic lunch inside the park, you will continue your journey to Arusha Airport for your scheduled flight back to Zanzibar at 4:30 pm. Upon arrival in Zanzibar at 5:45 pm, you will be met by our driver and transferred to your hotel, where you will enjoy dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
