As you enter the Serengeti, the endless plains unfold before you. The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maasai word Siringiti, meaning “endless plains,” perfectly describing the sweeping savannahs stretching to the horizon, dotted with granite kopjes shaped by centuries of weathering. These unique rock formations serve as lookout points for predators like leopards, which you may spot alongside other big cats through your vehicle’s open roof. In the afternoon, enjoy a freshly prepared local meal before continuing to your lodge, where you will settle in for the night.
