Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. This day is designed for rest and acclimatization after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short city tour, visiting local markets or cultural centers to get a first impression of Tanzania. Your guide will brief you on the safari ahead, covering wildlife expectations, safety, and daily routines. Dinner and overnight will be at a comfortable lodge or hotel in Arusha, surrounded by lush gardens and views of Mount Meru, preparing you for the adventure that begins the next day.

Day 2

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, a journey of approximately two to three hours. Upon arrival, begin an extensive game drive through the park, which is famous for its large herds of elephants and impressive baobab trees scattered across the landscape. Tarangire’s varied habitats include riverine forests, open grasslands, and seasonal swamps, attracting a wide range of wildlife such as lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, and numerous antelope species. The Tarangire River serves as the park’s main water source and is an excellent location for observing animals throughout the day. Enjoy a picnic lunch within the park before continuing your afternoon game drive. Later, exit the park and transfer to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, begin your scenic drive toward Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with its stunning highland views. Along the way, you may encounter Maasai herders with their cattle, offering a glimpse into traditional pastoral life. Upon entering the Serengeti, the vast open plains stretch endlessly to the horizon, creating one of Africa’s most iconic safari landscapes. Enjoy a game drive en route to your camp, with opportunities to spot wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and large herds of grazing animals. Stop for a picnic lunch at a designated site before continuing wildlife viewing throughout the afternoon. As the sun begins to set, drive to your lodge or tented camp. Today is dedicated to a full day of wildlife exploration in Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, depart for extended game drives, allowing you to cover different areas of the park in search of diverse animal species. The Serengeti is renowned for its high concentration of predators, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as elephants, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species. Your experienced guide will use expert tracking skills to locate wildlife and explain animal behavior and the ecosystem. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush or return to camp for a hot lunch, depending on your preference. In the afternoon, continue game viewing as temperatures cool and animals become more active. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

After an early breakfast, depart Serengeti and drive toward the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most remarkable natural wildlife areas in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Descend into the crater floor for a half-day game drive, where wildlife is concentrated within a relatively small area. Here you have an excellent chance to see the Big Five, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and the rare black rhino. The crater also supports hippos, flamingos, jackals, and a wide variety of birdlife, set against dramatic crater walls. Enjoy a picnic lunch near a hippo pool before ascending the crater rim. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha, arriving in the early evening, marking the end of your unforgettable Tanzania safari experience.
