Materuni Waterfalls, Coffee Tour and Hot Springs

Materuni Waterfalls, Coffee Tour and Hot Springs

Your guide will meet you at the airport and warmly welcome you to Best Time Adventures before giving a brief overview of your upcoming 3-day adventure. From there, you’ll head to Materuni Waterfalls, located at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro. This impressive fall, among the tallest in the region, pours fresh glacier water into a natural pool. The scenic trail passes through lush valleys, tropical forests, and local farms of coffee, bananas, avocados, and other crops. You’ll enjoy a traditional Chagga lunch before continuing to Chemka Hot Springs. The road is rough, so the drive takes about 40 minutes, but the views and glimpses of local life are rewarding. At the springs, you can swim, relax, enjoy the sun, and have lunch. If you wish, we can prepare a tasty barbecue while you swim. After the experience, your guide will drive you to your hotel.

This extraordinary region in northern Tanzania is renowned for the vast Ngorongoro Crater and its exceptional concentration of wildlife, including the iconic Big Five, elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. The open plains are often dotted with large herds of wildebeest and zebra, particularly during the migration season, while Maasai livestock can be seen grazing alongside wildlife. The area is also rich in history, with the famous Olduvai Gorge revealing some of the earliest evidence of human ancestors.
