Upon arrival at Ivato International Airport in Antananarivo, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in the capital. After a long international journey, the remainder of the day is kept at leisure, allowing you time to rest and acclimatize and relax at your hotel in preparation for the adventure ahead.

Day 2

Antananarivo-Andasibe National Park

Antananarivo-Andasibe National Park

After breakfast, you depart Antananarivo and drive east through the lush highland landscapes toward Andasibe. The journey takes you through rice terraces, small villages, and rainforest-covered hills, offering a first glimpse of rural Malagasy life. Upon arrival in Andasibe in the early afternoon, you check in at your lodge, surrounded by humid rainforest. Later in the evening, you take part in a guided night walk, an excellent opportunity to spot nocturnal wildlife such as chameleons, frogs, and mouse lemurs.

Andasibe National Park & Maromizaha Reserve

Andasibe National Park & Maromizaha Reserve

Over the next two days, you explore the exceptional biodiversity of Andasibe-Mantadia National Park and the nearby Maromizaha Reserve. Morning walks in the national park focus on finding the famous Indri, the largest living lemur, whose haunting calls echo through the forest. You also encounter several other lemur species, orchids, and endemic birds.
At Maromizaha, a community-managed reserve, the forest is pristine and less frequented, offering excellent wildlife encounters and insight into local conservation efforts. Afternoon walks allow time for photography and quieter observation, while evenings are spent relaxing at your lodge, immersed in rainforest sounds.

After breakfast, you return by road to Antananarivo and connect with a domestic flight south to Toliara. Upon arrival, the scenery changes dramatically as you drive north along the coast to Ifaty. The arid landscapes, baobabs, and sandy villages signal your arrival in Madagascar’s southwest. You settle into your beachfront accommodation, with time to relax and enjoy the sunset over the Mozambique Channel.

Today is dedicated to exploring the unique ecosystem of the southwest at the Reniala Reserve. The afternoon is free to enjoy the beach, swim, or simply relax in this tranquil coastal setting.
